Bethesda Learning Academy

Here at Bethesda we are finding ways to enrich the lives of those in our care.

In 1981, Bethesda opened a childcare program providing care for infants to preschoolers. Fast forward to 2014 when the Adult Day Health Center opened providing a safe environment for those whose caregivers need a break, run errands, or work. Starting in summer of 2021, Bethesda will start offering an O.S.T. Program (Out of School Time) for children Kindergarten through 5th grade. As Bethesda continues to provide quality care options for all ages, the development of the Bethesda Intergenerational Enrichment Center came to fruition. This care model encourages all ages to interact through various activities throughout the day under one roof. As the aging population grows, older adults will be seeking ways to remain productive and connected to their communities. At the same time, younger generations can benefit greatly through the support, stimulation and mentorship older adults provide. At the Enrichment Center, children and adults will have their own separate areas but then come together for activities, events, and meals. Each program will provide developmentally appropriate programming and materials. Intergenerational work has the potential to bring ages, races and cultures together to support policies and practices that empower all individuals to contribute to their communities and society. Bethesda sees the importance of sharing valuable time by bringing all ages together.
