Bethesda Home of Aberdeen Receives Another 5-Star Quality Rating

Bethesda Home of Aberdeen was recently awarded another 5-Star Quality Rating by the United States government. Nursing Home Compare (NHC) provides quality ratings to each of the nation’s 15,000 Medicare and/or Medicaid-certified skilled nursing home facilities

In 2008, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) enhanced its Nursing Home Compare public reporting site to include a set of quality ratings for each nursing home that participates in Medicare or Medicaid. The primary goal of this rating system is to provide residents and their families with an easy way to understand assessment of nursing home quality, making meaningful distinctions between high and low performing nursing homes. The Five-Star Quality Rating System is designed to offer valuable and comprehensible information to consumers based on the best data available.

The quality rating system gives each nursing home a rating of between 1 and 5 stars. Nursing homes with 5 stars, like Bethesda Home of Aberdeen, are considered to have “much above average” quality and nursing homes with 1 star are considered to have quality “much below average”.

This rating system assists families in their decision-making as they research and seek care options for loved ones,” stated Scott Eisenbeisz, CEO/Administrator for Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.

There is an overall rating for each nursing home, and a separate rating for each of the following areasHealth InspectionsStaffing and Quality Measures (QMs). With the overall goal being to determine how well a nursing home is caring for residents’ physical and clinical needs, Eisenbeisz gave credit to his staff, “Earning another 5-Star Quality Rating is a true validation of the standard of care our dedicated staff strives to provide to our residents each and every day.”
