As we begin 2023, the Aberdeen Bethesda Foundation has updates and exciting changes to announce. We are continually grateful for the support we have received from the Aberdeen and surrounding communities along with the generous support from family and friends of our Bethesda community. The Aberdeen Bethesda Foundation is dedicated to raising support and awareness that advances Bethesda’s mission of caring for others.
On February 20, 2023, the AmazonSmile program will be discontinued as the company has decided to focus their philanthropic efforts in the communities where their employees live and work and pursue different charitable projects. You can continue to make purchases to benefit the Aberdeen Bethesda Foundation through the AmazonSmile program up to this date. We appreciate the support we have received from the AmazonSmile program through the years.
We continue to partner with Lutheran Planned Generosity of South Dakota for planned giving donations and gifts. Through this organization, you can determine how to best give gifts of stocks, bonds, retirement assets, cash and insurance. Finally, we are excited to say that we have updated our Aberdeen Bethesda Foundation website to include new features such as online donations and interactive project pages. We have just launched our first new project of 2023, The Raised Garden Project. We are excited to continue to bring the joys of home to the residents of Bethesda Home of Aberdeen. The Raised Garden Project will allow residents to garden more comfortably from the comfort of a seated chair or wheelchair. Green Circle Garden beds feature a curved entrance, armrest, and legroom space to allow for improved wheelchair access and safety while simultaneously allowing the residents the joy of gardening once again.
